Religion and Faith

Joyce Meyer Ministries

Jesus didn’t die so we could have a religion. He died so we could have a relationship with Him.

Thank you, Joyce, for making it clear that there is a basic difference between religion and being a real Christian. A religion is a set of ritual observances and a set of rules agreed upon by a sect. Christianity is more than that because it is truly about our relationship with Jesus. I will meditate on Joyce’s words deeply because they explain why there is so much conflict in the world today between religions. Many of the wars in the world today are in the name of religion. People are misguided and hard-lined because we should live our lives in the name of the Lord instead of in the name of a religion.

My 2 Cents to Drew Brees

Ferdie Werdie

I tweeted to Drew Brees in order to add my 2 cents to the pot.

@drewbrees >>Now with GREAT FRIDAY come and gone, the WHO DATS can start their march to the 2013 Super Bowl which is right here in New Orleans. Best of luck, Drew!! https://twitter.com/ferdiewerdie/status/224035734741450752

I think that the WHO DAT NATION is truly on its own against the whole wide world in its journey to the 2013 Super Bowl. US AGAINST THE WORLD!!!

I tweeted to Drew Brees in order to add my 2 cents to the pot and wish him the best in the upcoming 16 regular-season games; plus more, if we get that far. This season will probably be like WORLD WAR III for the team with the likes of Bounty Gate hanging over our heads, and with all of the “haters” at the top of the NFL bureaucracy who are trying to tear us WHO DATS down. Commissioner Roger Goodell is still trying to block the dynasty of the Saints. He has his lawyers in court right now trying to throw out the cases of the players who are suing him in the American justice system.

Hey, man, aren’t the Saints players not even counted by Roger Goodell as red-blooded Americans who can use their legal, American right to sue ignorant sons-0f-btches like him? Don’t they have the right to have their day in court like every other American? Roger Goodell was judge, jury and executioner in his highfaluting bull-shiite decisions. Plus, he was the appeals process judge, jury and executioner. How retarded is that? Now, the players have taken their cases to the real, American justice system. Roger Goodell, you are not King Farouk. When are you going to retire ..you son-of-a-btch?

Plus, why-oh-why didn’t coach Sean Payton also sue? He was persecuted and lynched by Roger Goodell. I sure wish he had sued in the American justice system also in order to obtain a fairer judgement and punishment.

Peripherally Speaking! Ha-ha…

FerdieFerdie@ferdiewerdie

On Monday morning, I had an important assignment to accomplish. I asked you, my readers, to keep me in your prayers. If anyone did seek the Lord’s ears with my concerns on Monday then your prayers were answered. Today I ask that if any of the Lord’s words reach your ears please pass on those words to us (my readers and me). I am praying today that some special words from God reach my (and your) ears. I pray and seek God’s voice today. Please, let some special, powerful words from the Lord reach my ears (or your ears) in a magnificent/bold way?

This is what I said on Monday:

New Orleans-July 9, 2012 — I have been assigned a truly, truly touchy mission this morning! Keep me in your prayers as I disappear into the early morning fog. I will say more once this job is stamped as MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Ha-ha…

I am back on the scene with the welfare of mankind in the balance. I am in hot action ..Yes, finally. Again! I have to vacate the Bat Cave early this morning. I am checking F/B only peripherally right now. Ha-ha ..ya’ didn’t know I knew “them” big words. Then, I have to “vamoose the scene.”

It is important that I stay focused and within the Rules of Engagement in order to accomplish this important mission correctly. I plan to say more, but time is of the essence. I am putting on my Bat Cape presently, and swooping off into the fresh morning air. Further notification will come later, hopefully.

Now it is about 5 pm: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I am back in the Bat Cave resting up happily. Job well done. I have once again saved mankind. Without all of the fanfare, balloons and whistles I put the welfare of mankind in my own little, ol’ hands and saved the day. Details will follow; but for now I am basking in the glow!

Who Won PacMan Fight?

Ferdie Werdie

This is the “winner” of the PacMan fight in a wheel chair on Saturday at his post-fight interview. BE FOR REAL! How’d he win. I ordered the fight on Saturday b/c a few people called and wanted to come over. Thank God I did. We had fun (horse race, Miami/Boston game and PacMan fight). Most experts (except the retarded fight judges) gave Bradley 1 round (maybe 2 to be nice). I do not believe that a woman should have been one of the judges. In my opinion, women are better at cooking and cleaning up.

My Cousin’s Teaching on Homosexuality

Ferdie Werdie

What are the true words of the bible on what God says about homosexuality?

My cousin’s husband, Paul Trudeau, recently wrote beautifully on the misrepresentations that people make from the bible to justify hatred to homosexuals. Here is my cousin-in-law’s teaching on what the bible actually says about homosexuals.

by Paul Trudeau

God has been misrepresented almost since the dawn of time, and this is another in a long line of misrepresentations. The Bible never says He hates homosexuals – but He does hate sin. ANY sin – homosexuality, adultery, fornication, bestiality, theft, idolatry, disobedience to parents, greed, dishonestly, etc. Practically all have heard the scripture:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16).
The only way to know if God is misrepresented is to see for yourself – check it against His Holy Book. But most people, even when God is accurately represented, still reject Him, because
This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19) For this people’s heart has become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (Matthew 13:15). For these exact reasons,
The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and deity; so that they are without excuse: Because, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:18-22).
Man wants to live without God, it’s a choice. But that’s okay, because
If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. However, he that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (John 12:47-48).
Nevertheless, God will show mercy to whomever comes to him:
Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7)

I Tweeted @LoloJones

I did not know until I already did “it” that we are supposed to save ourselves for marriage.

Ferdie Werdie

On Twitter, I clicked to see what is on #MeganRaster and #LoloJones. https://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/%23MeganRaster

Plus, I finally tweeted something to rising star (LSU alum), 29-year-old virgin, Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones. @ Go Lolo Jones >>thank you for being such an inspiration to me. Since I read ur story, I have now begun saving myself also in case I ever get married again. It is a struggle; but if u can do it, we can do it also. Thank you! >>Lolo has not tweeted back to me yet because she is probably so busy with her races and prepping for the Olympic trials later this month. Good luck, Lola. You have many people in your corner and watching your races. Thanks for bringing glory to your country, state and the LSU Tigers. GEAUX Lolo!!!

@lolojones >>I did not know until I already did “it” that we are supposed to save ourselves for marriage. I never did read that part of the bible until I was already deep into my non-virginity phase. In Catholic school they mainly taught me about not eating meat on Fridays, about getting beaten by nuns, etc.

Plus, my review of The Woman in Black:

Ferdie Werdie

I just wrote a review of  THE WOMAN IN BLACK at Yahoo!Movies. If you have not seen the movie yet and want to get an idea about it then read my review. It is the scariest movie that I ever saw. I think that my review might help you decide if you want to see it or not. Pop some popcorn, turn out all the lights, snuggle-up and (of course) have someone in the room with you. Click to read my review first if you want to.

Ferdie Werdie: By the way, I gave it only 3 stars b/c Danielle Radcliffe’s character kept walking us straight to the scary stuff. I understand it, but it still befuddled me. It was flat-out (5-stars) scary, but I shaved off points b/c (for example) Daniel walked us straight into the foggy graveyard when we all had just 100% seen a horrifying figure there.

Will Smith Slaps Journalist

Ferdie Werdie

I just saw this picture online and it reminded me of what Will Smith did to the reporter this week who tried to kiss him on the mouth. Will Smith showed how “for real” he truly is. I have an increased admiration for Will Smith now. Sometimes we do not really know how much “heart” many of the Hollywood celebrities really have. Even though I must mention that celebrities have to be very careful when they put their hands on people in the public. There are too many people in the public who are just waiting to file frivilous law suits against celebrities. I saw the interview last week with Michael Jackson’s mother where she said that one of the young men whose parents sued Michael Jackson has now admitted that his parents forced him to say that Jackson had touched him inappropriately. People in the limelight have to always be aware that they can be sued maliciously just because they have a fortune of dollars at stake.

It is not always wise to let your emotions get to you because a lot of people out here in the public would use Smith’s reaction as a great excuse to sue him for a lot of money. Too many celebrities have to worry about frivilous lawsuits being brought against them. This may also fit under one of the categories of assault and battery in which case a plaintiff might have some grounds to actually stand on in a law suit.

New Orleans Saints Stand Up

A quote from the New Orleans Saints is in this picture:

New Orleans Saints.

I think that the New Orleans Saints will be hot under the collar this season after all of the penalties that the commissioner laid on them. I do not think that you really want to wake up a sleeping dog. On second thought, that is OK if you want to act stupid and mess with the Saints. That is just fine with me. The WHO DAT nation is truly not a group to be played with. We were busy minding our own business, breaking people up and tearing people’s heads off. That is all we were doing. Then, you rudely want to come along and mess with us. That’s okay! “Fight, team, fight! Fight, team, fight! Geaux, Saints,” is what we say. I do not think that the Saints are going to lie down and play dead. In fact, I heard that Jonathan Vilma, one of the penalized players, has sued commissioner Roger Goodell. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8292acf5/article/jonathan-vilma-sues-roger-goodell-for-false-statements  I understand that Goodell had to lay down some punishments against the Saints, but it was not called for for him to try to tear the team down to the bottom of the barrell. You can penalize someone, but do not try to rip their soul out of them.

Now, forward to October, 2013:

Blood Thirsty

Here is more. I dedicated this to my Mother’s Day thoughts. My brother, Carl in New Jersey, and I were reflecting that day on loved ones (past and present) and what they truly mean to us. The time got late, and my mind got foggy. Some of my brain cells started to snap, crackle and pop. While in that “fuzzy-math” condition I wrote Carl the loving, little note below. I have not heard from him since. As usual, he probably put a little distance between us for now because he does not want to claim me temporarily with respect to the snap, crackle and popping. J/K .. Anyway, here is my loving note to Carl and ya’ll:

Carl, you and I couldn’t grow up to be anything but Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday (blood-thirsty and wired) with that Jean Lafitte blood flowing thru our veins. Yes, there are all those nuclear DNA strains mixed up in there: daddy, both grandpa’s, Uncle Louis, Uncle Bay, Uncle Wallace. Dang ..I’m shocked we haven’t cleaned up any wild west towns yet, or had any of our own legendary OK Corral incidents yet. What a nuclear mixture of elements! 🙂 We are almost like the Avengers; and Alan is right there with us. He is off the hinge too; he’ll bite your head off in a minute. 🙂

Yes! Over the Mother’s Day weekend, I was seriously reflecting with Carl and other relatives about Mother’s Day and the meaning and memories of family (gone and present). I was telling him that I can see much about all of our close loved ones and ancestors in each of my brothers, sisters, cousins, etc. We were talking about what goes into making us who we are. I brought up the DNA element. However, the love of those who raised us, who were there for us and protected us in our formative years goes a long way too into making us who we are today.

An example of that love is a quote that the well-known motivational speaker Tony Robbins dedicated to all mothers on Mother’s Day. I understand well what he is saying:

Tony RobbinsTony Robbins@tonyrobbins

A mother is a person who, seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie anyway.

I know that all of us have experienced this kind of sacrifice from our mothers. That kind of love stays in our hearts and memories all of the days of our lives. These are the kinds of things that I am reflecting about on this special day for our mothers.

Dalai Lama and Patience

Dalai LamaDalai Lama@DalaiLama

Patience guards us against losing our presence of mind so we can remain undisturbed, even when the situation is really difficult.
                                                     **********

This is the latest tweet from the Dalai Lama. Later on, I plan to write more on today’s thoughts. I intend to shortly go into a time of prayer and reflection for a bit. It is raining outside, but I need to do a little bit of work on my van. I pulled the console out to put in a new starter. Now, I have to reinstall the console which is in 1 million pieces. To anyone reading this, I ask you to pray that I can successfully finish the work on my car. I will lift you in prayer also. What I am saying seems mundane, but it probably takes two people to re-install my console. I cannot seem to do it alone. Thus, the stress. Note: see results of our prayers below (under P.S.).

I bring up the issue of my console because I am stressed out at the condition inside my van. If there is a strong intercessor out there reading this, I know that if our hearts and spirits come together right now in prayer that my console will be in place and installed in no time. Prayer and hard work is a successful mixture.

Also, I pray for good weather for Mother’s Day on Sunday. I know that we all want to show our mothers a happy day. The weather here is so wet and ugly today that I think that Sunday should bless our mothers with a lovely day.

P.S. (From later that night): One screw and one electrical connection ..that is all that I could not succeed at. I could not find where one wire connected to ..maybe, back wipers or compass or something. Did anyone pray for my success with the above console task. Yes, there is one screw and one electrical connection that I failed at. Other than that, thank you; my console is successfully in. Thank God!!
