Happy Mother’s Day!

Sometimes commom sense is not so common. Just using your head should help the situation.

Ferdie Delery

I saw the cover of this week’s Time Magazine earlier today and went into SMH mode. I know probably most of ya’ll saw the cover already. I think this boy is too old to still breast feed. One-year-old should be the cut off point in my opinion. I question this mom’s thought processes here. Where is the pa’s brain? Where is the Pa?

By the way, SMH mode is shake my head mode. Also, I wish all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. Around the world it is these ladies who are the true saints and heroes. It is mothers who are with the children most of the time; and who prepare all of the little monsters to become the leaders of the world in the future. I ask the Lord to bless all mothers now. God, I ask you to provide them with all of the tools and goodies necessary to bring the children up.

Obama Gave the Order

“Mission Accomplished” is what should have been the banner on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson which was the final resting place of Osama Bin Laden.

With the 1-year anniversary of Osama Bin Laden’s death having just passed, it is important for me to say that Barack Obama got him. We are now knee deep into a presidential election, and candidate President Barack Obama most definitely must list the administration’s accomplishments of his first term. Be for real!

After 8 years of the George W. Bush adminitration trying to get him, they did not. Obama got him. He found him; he gave the order; he buried him. Yes, of course, it was the work of many good, brave people and plenty of it overlapped from the Bush administration. However, the ultimate decisions made by Obama in this victory led to the type of success that the mission was. Bush would no doubt have “laser tagged” Osama and the whole compound with U.S. bombers if he had found him, like he did Musab al-Zarqawi in 2006.

On June 7, 2006, Musab Al-Zarqawi took the secrets and locations of Al Qaeda’s WMD storage caches in Iraq to the grave with him because the U.S. bombs had incinerated Zarqawi, obliterating the building and everything in it. The U.S. sifted through the rubble of Zarqawi’s safe house, but the building was obliterated. All of his computers and documents had gone up with him. Noted from: Chuck Pfarrer. Seal Target Geronimo. St. Martin’s Press, New York 2011

Bush would have beaded Osama’s location with lasers, sending in U.S. bombers to flatten Osama’s compound, killing everyone in it and losing all of the evidence and files. Barack Obama sent in Seal Team Six, beaded Bin Laden with lasers from 2 rifles and surgically eliminated target #1. Plus, Seal Team Six left with a treasure trove of evidence. I say, “Job well done!”

From the Great Beyond

Reading the Dalai Lama’s latest tweet is a great way to start off my week. The words of the Dalai Lama should kick off my week fine. You have to decide for youself if the Dalai’s words have spiritual resonance.

Dalai LamaDalai Lama@DalaiLama >>Once you realize that compassion is useful, that it is something really worthwhile, you immediately develop a willingness to cultivate it.

I will read his words several times today. Otherwise (as always), I still have the words of the Lord calling out to me and leading me today and every day.

And (how I closed my Sunday night) …I watched comedian Don Rickles win the Lifetime Achievement award last night at the 2nd annual Comedy Awards in Hollywood. I watched the presentations which were broadcast on the Comedy Channel. At the end of his acceptance speech, Rickles shed tears as many people in the auditorium fought with their own emotions and tears. His speech was so touching and magnanimous even though he did lay out zingers on some of the biggest names in the crowd and in the great beyond. Actor Robert DeNiro was one of the presenters who introduced Rickles.

Rickles was very gracious toward the memories of the likes of Johnny Carson (the namesake of the award), Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, etc. He broke down into tears as he began reaching the close of his remarks. Yes, tears trickled down from my eyes too because we  are not used to seeing Don Rickles in such a truly emotional and gripping state. He gave a wonderful, fine acceptance speech.

Missed My Whole Saturday.

Ferdie Delery

I was supposed to go off to watch the Mayweather fight w/friends, but I fell asleep waiting on the Kentucky Derby to start. Slept thru everything. I will not say anything dumb, but I have to see that fight for myself before I give a comment.

A friend read what I said about falling asleep, missing the Derby and the fight. Below, she suggests that because I fell asleep in the afternoon I might be creeping into the senior citizen class. Actually, the Derby parties and the fight parties were already lined up and ready to kick off (just waiting on me). I left one Derby party (with mucho cajun and creole food) in order to place my bet. I stopped home for a minute, after laying down bet, to watch some of the pre-race show. I guess some of that good creole food from the afternoon lulled me to never-never land. Thus, my friend had some ammo to tease me with.

Carolyn Demery A sign of old age. Hmmm

  • OK, ya’ll! I let her off the hook with the age joke. This is how I responded.
  •  Ferdie Delery I fell asleep watching the pre-Kentucky Derby stuff (my horse finished 2nd); and I woke up in the 7th round of the fight. I followed people’s tweets for the fight. How was that big-ol’ fish? I saw the pics ..looked like u did some good cooking.

  •  Carolyn Demery It was awsome as always very good,

  •  Ferdie Delery I saw the pics. I was supposed to eat good today too, but I slept thru it. Several relatives were doing fight parties. I missed it all.

  • Carolyn Demery Like I said old age. Hmmm

  •  Ferdie Delery lol ..yeah, I know. All that good food going around today; now, I’m about to fix a peanut butter and jelly sandwich b/c I missed it all. How sad! Next thing you know, I’ll be needing a rocking chair 🙂

  •  Carolyn Demery Oh I thought you already had one. Hmmm                              *************************************************************

  • So, ya’ll see how my “friends” treat me. With friends like that, who needs enemies. 🙂 Anyway, tonight (Sunday) I am doing better. The Knicks won earlier, and I am enjoying a relaxing Sunday evening. Oh, I almost forgot, the comedy awards are coming on tonight. I am going to take a break now to see if the show started yet. God bless, ya’ll! See ya’ later!!

More Saints Punishments

FerdieFerdie@ferdiewerdie

The funny thing about the appeals process for the #Saints is that the commish also decides the outcome of the appeals. Is this retarded or what?

I am so ready for Commissioner Roger Goodell to retire. Wouldn’t it be nice to have NFL football go back to being “real” football again. Roger Goodell, please go away. I sure wish that the overly-punished coaches and players could get lawyers and sue the league and Roger Goodell.

Diamonds are made under pressure. Are the Saints diamonds in the rough this year? Roger Goodell has gutted the hearts out of the Saints in his attempt to destroy the WHO DAT nation. I’m just wondering if the Saints will use the pressure that Goodell has placed on them to turn into a diamond for the ages. Miss Desi Doll is the one who gave me the idea with her below tweet.

 Desi Doll  Desi Doll @MissDesiDoll

Are you a diamond or a pipe? Pipes burst under pressure, diamonds are made under pressure!!  >>Yes, Miss Desi Doll said it perfectly. My question to the commissioner: Why do you hate the Saints so much, commish?
Will the pressure this year turn the Saints into a diamond?

Four score and seven years…

Four score and seven years ago our forefathers paved a concrete path to the future cured with their blood for our freedom. However, they did not plan for us to sit in front of the TV and watch hour after hour of the NFL Draft.

Day 1. The 1st Round of the NFL draft is over. That was a lot of bull-shiite to listen to in one day. The 7-hour pre-draft Special show was very reduntant to me b/c the network was running that same talking-heads crap for the last 6 weeks. I turned the 7-hour pre-draft Special off 2 seconds into the show. Be for real! 7 hours of that yak-yak? UPDATE: I went online on Saturday night, looked up the Saints’ draft picks, and that was a wrap. It took me 1 minute to find out what I needed about the draft. Months-and-months, weeks-and-weeks of talking-heads yakking about what it took me 1 minute to find out.

Saturday Morning. Today, I have to get out of the house in order to get away from all of this draft yak-yak. It’s fun, but it can eat your brain up if you don’t get away from it for a while. I’m not complaining. The 24-7 NFL news cycle is great compared to what we had in the past. Actually, we can pick out the time schedule that we like. We can listen to what we need at any time. No one is telling us that we have to sit in front of the TV like a zombie and watch every second of every minute of NFL news and NFL draft coverage.

Plus, the Saints did not get but 5 minutes to make one pick at the end of hour upon hour of listening to everyone else. Some fans of other teams might say that it is the Saints’ own fault that they were granted only five minutes and one pick after hours and hours of glorifying and halleluiaing the other 31 teams. The Saints’ fault is that they talked and put money on what all NFL teams do on the field defensively ..minus the on-purpose injuries, hopefully.  In fact, the Saints had less defensive penalties on the field than many teams.

So, their actions on the field was not the crime. The verbalization and the money stuff is the web that the team weaved. Glory and halleluia to all of the other 31 teams? Phooey to the down-trodden Saints? Not so, partner. The Saints will still field a bodacious, bad-a$$ team on the gridiron every week in 2012, my friends. Let the games begin!

Belly Fat!

In our battles with belly fat we hear a myriad of suggestions. This morning I read this one from WebMD. I hope that it helps you too.

Most scientific evidence suggests that a calorie-controlled diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, beans, nuts, seeds, lean meat, fish, eggs, and poultry is the foundation for a diet that provides all the nutrients you need while helping to whittle your waistline. Weight loss experts recommend combining this diet with 30 to 60 minutes of exercise most days of the week.

THERE WILL BE BLOOD!

Below, I said I would not tweet it b/c he’s such a spiritual nephew. I thought that I did not want to put it on Twitter for the whole universe to see; but (in a brief moment of spiritual weakness), this is what I just broke down and tweeted:

FerdieFerdie@ferdiewerdie

To my #loving nephew Wayne D. Gusman Jr. >>You have 1 week to get ur raggedy-a$$ bike out of my mama’s house.  see: the Delery Gazette  for latest.  Plus, #GodBless you.

Click here to see the actual tweet live!

Earlier, I also posted the same on F/B to him, one of my favorite nephews:

  • Ferdie Werdie: Lawrence, thank you cousin, that’s the kind of blood that courses thru our veins (you and me). THEY DON’T KNOW! I will turn into SEAL TEAM SIX on their monkey a$$ when it comes to my mama’s well-being ..especially now in her senior and twilight years. They all better back up ..and wise up. Give my mama a break!!
  • Ferdie Werdie: here’s the Latest. I have not tweeted on Twitter my BLOOD notice yet for the whole universe to see. I am getting a little bit tired w/headache, and might not even post this OFFICIAL NOTICE on Twitter. (Correction: As seen above, the good Lord slipped up a little bit and allowed a weak moment to attack me in which I gave in and did unadvisedly Tweet the NOTICE for the whole universe to see). Anyway, I am slowing down now needing something to eat. I plan to watch the Miami v. Boston game at 7 pm (Central time). The Hornets game tonight is not covered on TV, and I thought about breaking my TV into a million little pieces. However, that would hurt no one but myself. Why in the h#ll are they not broadcasting tonight’s Hornets game? Wait ’til I get my hands on them.

Jean Lafitte, my ancestor

I am going to soon elucidate further the Jean Lafitte connections that I am discovering in my background. Most of what I have gleaned over and saved is only circumstantial evidence which puts things in the category that: I lean toward believing that I do have Pirates of the Caribbean blood. When I get back into my search you will see some of the documents that I mentioned when I introduced you to the fact that I descended from Jean Lafitte. There are some of my readers who want me to provide my sources for my claim that I am a descendant of the Caribbean Pirate, Jean Lafitte.

I am presently collecting these sources, and filing them into a neat package. Once I have the paperwork closer to what I feel is presentable, I will make that info public for you to see. Meanwhile, what I have gives me a clear road to very conclusive dates and circumstances. These “black-and-white” documents satisfy me enough that I know that I am a Pirate of the Caribbean one way or the other anyway.

THERE WILL BE BLOOD! I mean, there IS Pirates of the Caribbean blood flowing through my veins.
